Michel Comte is a world renowned Swiss contemporary artist, photographer, filmmaker and photo journalist, active in social and cultural subject.


Petra S. Dittrich is an Associate Professor for Bioanalytics at ETH Zurich in the Department of Biosystems Science & Engineering (D-BSSE) in Basel.


Dimitrios Fotiadis is a Full Professor of Structural Biology at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine, University of Bern.


Kerstin Göpfrich is a professor at Heidelberg University at the Center for Molecular Biology (ZMBH) and is leading the Max Planck Reseach Group Biophysical Engineering of Life.


Ivan Martin is a Professor of Tissue Engineering at the Department of Biomedicine, the Department of Surgery and at the University Hospital Basel. His group combines interdisciplinary expertise in cell biology, biomedical engineering and materials science towards the generation of three-dimensional (3D) human cell-based tissues.


Stefan Matile is a Full Professor in the Department of Organic Chemistry at the University of Geneva. He is Head of the research project “Systems Catalysis and Cellular Interfacing”.


Daniel J. Müller is a Full Professor of Biophysics at ETH Zurich in the Department of Biosystems Science & Engineering (D-BSSE) in Basel and Co-Director of the NCCR Molecular Systems Engineering.


Yasunori Okamoto is Assistant Professor at the Frontier Research Institute for Interdisciplinary Sciences, Tohoku University, Japan and a former NCCR Molecular Systems Engineering PhD student.


Cornelia Palivan is a Professor in Physical Chemistry of the University of Basel. Her group's expertise lies particularly in designing biosynthetic hybrid systems.


Don Renzo Pegoraro M.D. is chancellor of the Pontifical Academy for Life, Vatican City. He was appointed Chancellor of the Academy for Life in 2011 and serves as an ethicist in several institutions.


Maria Pomiansky studied graphic design at the Moscow College of Art and Design. After her immigration to Israel in 1991, she became a scholarship recipient in Switzerland in 2003. Following her studies at the Zurich University of the Arts, she clinches one of the prestigious Swiss Art Awards in 2021.


Sai Reddy is an Associate Professor at ETH Zurich in the Department of Biosystems Science & Engineering (D-BSSE) in Basel. He is the principal investigator of the Laboratory for Systems and Synthetic Immunology.


Botond Roska is a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and at the Faculty of Science at the University of Basel. He is also Co-Director of the Institute of Molecular and Clinical Ophthalmology Basel (IOB) and Head of research of “Central Visual Circuits & Human Retinal Circuit Groups”.


Florian Seebeck is a Professor of Molecular Bionics in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Basel.


Gregory Stephanopoulos is Willard Henry Dow Professor in Chemical Engineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. For the past 10 years, he has chaired the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) panel that monitors and guides the scientific progress of the NCCR MSE.


Jaicy Vallapurackal is Chemistry and Biochemistry Postdoctoral Fellow at Athavale lab at
UCLA and former PhD student at the NCCR Molecular Systems Engineering.


Effy Vayena is a Professor of Bioethics at the Department of Health Sciences and Technology (D-HEST) at ETH Zurich. She is Module Head and Principal Investigator of Health Data Governance and Value Creation.


Viola Vogel is a Professor of the Department of Health Sciences and Technology (D-HEST) at ETH Zurich. She is heading the Laboratory of Applied Mechanobiology.


Thomas R. Ward is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Basel and Director of the NCCR Molecular Systems Engineering.
