African and Asian policy-makers visit NCCR MSE

Thirty policy-makers from African and Asian countries with a mandate to implement changes relevant for intellectual property and innovation in relation to genetic resources recently visited our NCCR in Basel. Following a presentation given by Scientific Officer Aleksander Benjak about the structures and research goals of the NCCR MSE, director Tom Ward and Gesine Gunkel (Meier group) showed the visitors around some of the new labs at Rosental in Basel. The visiting participants of this Advanced International Training Programme, organized by the Swedish Patent and Registration Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization, made a halt in Switzerland following an invitation of NCCR's Head Ethics Ralf Stutzki.
